Experts of the United Nations note that the mankind has come up to "ceiling" in the consumption of natural resources. Their indispensable quantity for maintenance of life activity of mankind exceeds the accessible one.
Since 1987 to the present, annual atmospheric emission of carbon dioxide - the gas causing warming of the terrestrial globe, was increased on one-third; the world catch of fish was diminished by 10,6 million tons, and quantity of land compounds 22 hectares per a man, while its limit - 15 hectares.
"There are no trends in the world which was possible to consider as favourable", - this thesis is the main in the new program of the United Nations on surrounding environment.
Inspite of some successes in environmental protection, for example, 95 percent reduction of atmospheric emission of the materials eroding the ozonosphere, and expansion of areas of protected woodland, to shut down degradation of the Earth is not possible yet. Scientists assert that the biosphere of Earth experienceâ the sixth in the history extinction of animals and plants. Species die in 100 times more fast, than it is planned out by the nature. More than 30 % of fishes, 12 % of birds and 23 % of mammals are threatened extinction.

My commentings: "There are no trends in the world which was possible to consider as favourable" - almost all is told by it. Exhaustion of natural resources and degradation of the Earth - the problem not only our time. Judging by numerous Sumerian-Babylonian, American, Indian and other legends, and the comparison of these myths with geological events carried out by me, degradation of the Earth began about 23 million years ago (and here), after that as a considerable part of the former inhabitants of the Earth, following the ideology of space incomers Daityas and Danavas, refused from life in Harmony with the Nature. The exhaustion of natural resources was the main reason of wars and global catastrophes after which there was next revival of Earth and mankind (read Plato "the Timaeus").
The modern mankind steadily "rolls" to the next global catastrophe, and to prevent it is possible only by two ways: restriction of population development ("the Golden Age" law: one birth at one death") or resettlement of a part of earth dwellers on other manned planets - look my article "Phaeton, Mars, Earth - the following Venus! ". Otherwise turn of wars and further destruction of the biosphere is imminent.
